Nei balloons dei fumetti, l’immagine di una lampadina accesa ci fa capire con immediatezza che il personaggio in questione è stato colto da un’idea luminosa. Un’ampia rete di operatori attivi nelle più diverse discipline, collegati tra loro, danno origine ad un’energia creativa che l’associazione culturale BAU mette in circolo dal 2004 tramite la rivista-laboratorio BAU Contenitore di Cultura Contemporanea, un cofanetto formato UniA4 edito a cadenza annuale con contributi originali di autori internazionali impegnati nella sperimentazione di nuovi linguaggi. Electro BAU è l’espressione che meglio fotografa questa situazione ed è anche il titolo del nuovo numero Nove che verrà presentato in anteprima alla GAMC di Viareggio, a cura della redazione BAU, domenica 22 Aprile dalle ore 17.00 alle 19.30, con un ricco programma di performance, interventi sonori, installazioni e video di alcuni dei novantatre autori inclusi nella “scatola”.

Il Contenitore BAU - presente in prestigiosi Musei, biblioteche e collezioni private nazionali e internazionali - si inserisce nella vasta tradizione delle riviste d’artista e ad assemblaggio sviluppatasi fin dagli anni Sessanta. In un’ottica relazionale e non competitiva, sensibile ai rapporti tra arte, scienza, politica e ambiente, BAU è un punto d’incontro che stimola dialoghi, confronti e scambi tra le più varie discipline: grafica, collage, fotografia e arti visuali in genere, ma anche ricerche poetiche e narrative, esperienze acustiche e performative, documenti legati al mondo della moda e del design, ecc. La rete operativa di BAU si esprime anche nella progettazione di mostre, convegni, rassegne ed eventi.
